Organic Basics — Ethical Essentials
Organic Basics was established long before sustainability became the center of the fashion conversation. Back then three friends from Denmark decided to create underwear they would love to use by themselves. They knew there was something wrong in the fashion industry and decided to create a brand with a purpose and meaning, sustainability had to be at the core of everything. Using only the most sustainable materials in their production, partnering with responsible and transparent factories and designing products for longevity, today they are creating long-lasting clothing with a simplistic design to be used in everyday life.
Soft to wear, easy to care must-haves!
Organic Basics collection is an everyday selection of soft and invisible underwear, organic GOTS certified essentials and bluesign® approved SilverTech activewear. Organic Basics' GOTS Certified organic cotton comes from the coast of the Aegean Sea Turkey and is ethically manufactured in Izmir Turkey. GOTS Certified means that all material, factories, production process, and the final product are living up to the highest organic and fair workplace standards.
Organic Basics' underwear and some essentials are made consciously in TENCEL Lyocell, an eco-friendly fabric made of wood pulp. TENCEL Lyocell is a cellulose fabric made of eucalyptus trees. TENCEL is more environmentally responsible than cotton because it takes 80% less water to grow the trees. The fabric is also, softer, lighter and less prone to wrinkling than cotton. Organic Basics' TENCEL is made fairly in Apúlia, Portugal.
SilverTech Active is a recycled Nylon treated with Polygiene® a recycled silver salt treatment to keep the clothing fresher for longer. Recycled nylon is more durable, moisture-wicking fabric that maintains its shape time after time. It also takes 80% less water to make and creates 90% fewer CO2 emissions compared to virgin nylon. Organic Basics' nylon is created in GRS (Global Recycled Standard) mechanically recycled nylon from Italy and is a class A material developed from post-industrial waste fiber, yarn from spinning factories, and waste from weaving mills. All SilverTech Active products are made from stretchy, seamless, breathable and odor-controlling materials – helping you stretch more and wash less.
